SMS Privacy Policy

This Policy explains how your personal information is collected, used, and disclosed by GrandCanals, Inc. (“GrandCanals”, “Us” or “We”) in connection with our SMS alerts program (the “Alerts Program”). This privacy policy (“Policy”) only applies to participants in, and users of, the Alerts Program, and does not apply to websites, applications, programs or services that do not display or link to this statement or that display or link to different privacy statements.

 

INFORMATION COLLECTED AND HOW IT’S USED

GrandCanals’ Alerts Program offers its clients and their customers and end users, the ability to receive automatic text and SMS updates related to their shipments.  In order to provide the Alerts Program, we will collect the phone number(s) you provide during your registration in the Alerts Program. We use your phone number(s) solely for the purpose of providing you the services offered in connection with our Alerts Program.

 

SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

Information We Share

We disclose your personal information as described below:

  • with third party vendors, carriers and other service providers who work for us and need access to your information to provide you the services offered in connection with our Alerts Program;
  • to (i) comply with laws or to respond to lawful requests and legal process, (ii) to protect the rights and property of GrandCanals our agents, customers, members, and others including to enforce our agreements, policies and terms of use or (iii) in an emergency to protect the personal safety of GrandCanals, its customers, or any person;
  • in connection with or during negotiation of any merger, financing, acquisition, or dissolution, transaction or proceeding involving sale, transfer, divestiture, or disclosure of all or a portion of our business or assets to another company. In the event of an insolvency, bankruptcy, or receivership, personal information may also be transferred as a business asset. If another company acquires our company, business, or assets, that company will possess the personal information collected by us and will assume the rights and obligations regarding your personal information as described in this Policy.

 

YOUR INFORMATION CHOICES AND CHANGES

You may opt out of the Alerts Program by replying “STOP”, or such other word or phrase as provided to you in connection with the Alerts Program, to any SMS or text message you receive in connection with the Alerts Program. You may receive one additional SMS or text message to confirm that you have been unenrolled from the Alerts Program.

 

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We may change this Policy from time to time. If we make any changes to this Policy, we will change the “Last Updated” date above.
